Religious School News!

General Information

Grades Pre-K through 7 meet Sundays 9:30am - Noon.

Grades 8+ meet Sundays 12:30pm - 2:00pm.

Snacks:

All children should bring a kosher, healthy snack with them. Fruit and veggies, or prepackaged and labelled are best. Due to allergies please do not send snacks of peanuts, peanut butter or tree nuts

School Supplies:

Children in grades PreK through 3 need a composition notebook to keep in class. Children in grades 4 to High School need either a composition notebook or a single subject spiral notebook and a homework folder. It would be great if all children brought their own pencils.

Tzedakah:

Children should bring money weekly for tzedakah collection.  This should be money allocated from allowance or awarded for chores or other earnings.  At the end of each semester we will tally the donations and the school will select 2 or 3 worthwhile causes for donation.

Service attendance:

Temple Israel has a Shabbat service attendance requirement for students grade 4 through Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  This is outlined in the registration material.

Vacations and School Holidays

With meeting just once a week and in seeking to provide the best education possible, we do not always take the long holiday weekends associated with the public school calendar. Of course family plans always come first but class is generally held when there is a Monday school holiday.

Registration

For families NEW to Temple Israel we would welcome you and your children to visit our classes. Please email Karen Jacobs, school director, at morahkarenti@gmail.com to arrange a convenient date and time. Please include a phone number where you can be reached weekday evenings.

Registration Forms (PDF)     We need only one Family Form per family, and a separate registration form for each child. Please note membership policy, and service attendance requirements for the coming school year.
